A friend who is organizing a beach cleanup in Canada on 12 Sept inspired me to do something similar here in Berlin. Since we don't have any nearby oceans, I chose the closest body of water: the Panke River.

Will you join a group of us, walking with garbage bags and collecting trash along its banks and walking paths? Depending on how many people assemble (eight or more would be ideal), it could take one or two hours. Maybe you'll be motivated to continue walking and collect even more trash....

We'll provide garbage bags. We recommend that you wear closed-toe shoes and gloves. Bring water and a snack, too, so that we can gather picnic-style at the end of the route to relax and get to know one another better.
